5 Tips To Reduce Your Shy Bladder Problem

If you suffer from a shy bladder (known medically as paruresis), it can affect your whole life, especially your social life. Depending on how severe your shy bladder syndrome is, it could be a minor irritation for you or it could mean that it dictates your whole life’s schedule.

Below I’ve listed some easy tips to reduce or overcome your shy bladder problem:

1. Don’t drink as much

OK, that sounds pretty obvious but it’s still worth remembering. It’s also well worth being cautious what you drink. Drinks such as coffee, for example, known for its diuretic properties will make the problem worse, even if you don’t drink as much as you would, say, water.

2. Don’t ignore it

Having a shy bladder isn’t one of those problems that will go away if you ignore it. You actually need to do things to help overcome your problem.

3. Don’t focus on it either

At first glance, this sounds like it contradicts point 2. The point is that it’s actually rather difficult to do certain things if you concentrate too hard on them. For instance, if I told you to blush now, this instant, could you do it? The same logic goes for your shy bladder problem. If the only thing that is occupying your mind is “There’s no way I can use a public restroom” then there’s a good chance your body won’t let anything happen. Even if you’re bursting.

4. Get some practice  walking into restrooms

Even when you don’t need to pee. You will begin to give your mind the idea that these are perectly safe places. Obviously don’t make a habit of hanging around these places like a disgraced pop star. Just give your mind the idea that other people manage fine. This could be all the help it needs to conquer your bladder’s shyness.

5. Get help

Find a friend or work colleague and talk to them. Visit your doctor. Or treat yourself to a shy bladder hypnosis MP3 that you can play to yourself whenever you want and will help you to overcome your shy bladder problem naturally.
