Meditating for Beginners: Simple Ways To Begin Meditating

Whatever you do for the first time, you’re a beginner and meditation is no exception. If you’re just starting to meditate, here are some useful tips.

1. Relax and go with the flow - you’re probably meditating right

If you follow the instructions for your meditating then there’s a high chance you’re meditating correctly. One of the main aims of meditation is relaxation. So don’t spend time worrying about whether or not you’re meditating correctly! There’s an almost 100% chance that you’re fine. And if that isn’t the case and you messed up slightly, well, why worry? It’s not like you have just completed an examination. Unwind and have some fun for a change.

2. Don’t just stick to one meditation method

We’re not all the same. In turn that means not everybody will find the same meditation technique is the one that’s best for them. You may also find that if your aim is different, another method is more appropriate. A majority of the time, I’ll listen to a binaural beats meditation because that drops me down into a state of deep meditation quickly and all I have to do is listen. You could say that I’m being lazy doing that. But for healing myself - possibly my legs are aching - then I’ll use a guided meditation. And if I want to manifest abundance into my life, I’ll use a different meditation again. So feel free to experiment and see what works best for you.

3. Make a habit out of meditation

It’s generally thought that it takes a minimum of a fortnight of regular “whatever” to make it into a habit. So if you really want to meditate, commit yourself that you’ll meditate every day for the next fortnight. Pick a time where it’s unusual for you to be doing anything. A lot of people meditate as soon as they wake up because everything else that happens in the day doesn’t get a chance to get in the way. Others find that the relaxation process means that meditating last thing at night before they go to sleep works for them.

Whichever meditation technique you choose and whenever you decide to practice it, just start! If you don’t, you definitely won’t get any benefit from meditating regularly.
