Use Binaural Beats Meditation To Relax And Unwind
Subscribe To Our FeedIf you have not yet heard about binaural beats meditation you may well want to look into it. A man named Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered binaural beats in 1839, when he played to slightly varying tones on a set of headphones. The listener perceives the two tones as one pulsating sound.
The human ear is able to perceive any sound above 1000 hertz and to achieve the binaural beat a slight variation of no more than 30hertz is required to maintain the desired effect. A greater differentiation will mean that the human ear does not perceive the binaural beat, but will hear two distinctly different tones.
This interesting phenomenon actually affects brain wave patterns and can induce various mental states when administered. A measurable difference in the reduction of stress and mental activity has been noted during this process. By altering the frequency it is easier to induce a relaxed mental state.
Mankind has used meditation for relaxation over many centuries in countries across the globe. In the Western culture we are conditioned from an early age to use our time productively, to always be active and to not waste time. This mind set can make it very difficult for some people to take time out to relax and meditate.
This mind set can be very difficult to alter and can make the art of relaxation a difficult one to master. To assist the individual with entering the desired meditative state, binaural beats are used to alter the brainwave pattern to one that is more conducive to meditation.
Ideally the brain needs to be in the alpha brainwave state to enjoy successful meditation. This can be easily achieved by using binaural beats to alter brainwave patterns. Using a set of headphones two slightly different tones are played independently of one another and the brain interprets this as a third, distinctive tone.
While our brains are consciously active going about our daily tasks we are in a beta brainwave state, but during meditation our brains operate in the alpha state. Alpha is highly conducive to relaxation and an overall sense of peacefulness. It can take years to master the art of consciously altering the mind to the alpha state, but once this is achieved a person can move on to meditating in the theta state.
The frequency creates a shift in consciousness, making it easier for the mind to achieve a meditative state. The individual can use this induced mental state for relaxation, stress relief and as a way to achieve a more enlightened state. In this state we can focus on issues that require clarification and by therapeutic relaxation we can enjoy many health benefits.
